Community Engagement

ARYZTA in the Americas focuses its community engagement on reducing hunger and improving the lives of children. We are proud to support Share Our Strength, the leading non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America. ARYZTA has developed an Otis Spunkmeyer® “Orange Cookie” in support of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign for the foodservice, retail grocery and fundraising channels. And La Brea Bakery®, an ARYZTA brand and the industry leader in Artisan Bread, is a sponsor of Taste of the Nation Los Angeles.

Employee and Food Safety

The health and safety of our people is of paramount importance. We pursue comprehensive internal safety management procedures and key performance indicators around regulatory compliance, risk assessments, individual site action plans, and safety audits. The health and safety of our consumers is also critical. Our Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system protects our consumers against potential food safety issues and ensures the highest quality foods are delivered every day.

Using a web-based solution, each year ARYZTA employees complete over 100,000 hours of training on food safety, quality processes, and people safety.

Sourcing Practices

ARYZTA supports the production of sustainable Palm Oil and is a global member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).  We purchase either RSPO mass balance certified palm oil or RSPO Credits / Green Palm Certificates to cover all palm oil used in our North American food offerings.

ARYZTA sources United Egg Producers (UEP) certified eggs for all liquid eggs used in our North American foods to ensure the humane treatment of animals. The ARYZTA Supplier Code of Conduct addresses business practices, labor laws, and other expectations that ARYZTA has of its suppliers. Suppliers must be in compliance of the Code of Conduct and a 3rd party auditor is utilized to ensure adherence to these important practices.


Ten of our bakeries have achieved zero waste to landfill. This effort includes maximizing recycling and sending non-recyclable waste to incineration or co-processing facilities with energy recovery or fuel source generation. All of our bakeries have recycling programs. We have consolidated the measurement of gas, electricity, and water usage in all of our bakeries and have committed to reduce the use of these natural resources on a per-ton of-food-delivered basis.
